Dinobot Slag 1985 Transformers Generation 1 Autobot

Here’s another loose Transformer that I just purchased – this one’s “Slag” – one of the 5 Dinobots. As a kid, I had Sludge, Grimlock, and Snarl.  I now have the Dinobot Slag and I’m trying to see if I can complete the set and get Swoop, but he seems to be the hardest to get and the most expensive because you rarely find him in good condition.  I’ve noticed he usually has a broken beak or wings.  When I do find him in good condition, he’s at least $70-80 loose and 100+ in box.

Insecticons Transformers G1

Here’s a set of Insecticons that I just got from Ebay. I think I only paid 30 -35 for the set.  I never had these as a kid but I want to get at least, all of the original 1st season Transformers G1’s.  There is also another group of Insecticons called the “Deluxe Insecticons” but they are have a different color scheme and they were never portrayed in the cartoon.  Below are the original three Insecticons -Kickback, Bombshell, and Shrapnel. I am really glad I have all 3 of them. Insecticons Transformers Hasbro Generation 1 G1 Kickback Bombshell Shrapnel

Ultra Magnus Transformers G1

Here’s a loose Ultra Magnus that I picked up on Ebay.  I just got a more complete one with the belt, bigger head, chest piece, missile launchers and fists.  He looks much, much better complete.  He’s the same body as Optimus Prime but just in white. Ultra Magnus Transformers

Here’s one that I just got from Ebay – brand new in box for 45 dollars- Ricochet.  This is basically the same body as Jazz but he’s black. I don’t believe this character was in the cartoon and I don’t recall seeing him as a kid but I’m glad to have him.  I now have both Porsche 911  robots.

Skids Transformers G1 Commemorative Series VIII 2004

Here’s a new one I just got from Ebay – Skids.  The original came out as part of the “Diaclone” series (pre-Transformers) back in the 80’s. I vividly remember seeing this as a kid in Japan while on vacation in 1983.  I didn’t think too much of them because I was intent on getting the big Godaikin robots.  Anyway, I took him out of the box and put on a few of his stickers so that he would look good for his picture.  I have left all the accessories in the box because I don’t want to lose them.

Jazz Transformers G1 2002

Below is Jazz.  I did have the original Generation 1 Jazz back in 1984, but I know I traded a bunch of Transformers away for some of the Godaikins I have now.  You can tell this is the 2002 Hasbro Commemorative Series III re-issue because the missile launcher is much larger than the original. Still, he’s one of my favorite autobots.

I updated this post with a cleaned up Hound.  I dusted him off with a damp qtip, lens cloth and re-glued some of his decals.  I’m trying to show my collection a little love after all of these years.

Diaclone Gats Blocker Takara 1983 aka Diakron Multi Force 14 Robot 1984

The Gats Blocker robot was a mystery to me for the longest time. I traded for this from a kid down the block in the late 80’s, but I never had the outer box or asked what it was. I was not sure what this robot was when I got it, but it looked pretty cool. It would have been nice to have the internet on this guy back then.

This was a Diaclone robot Gats Blocker before most Diaclone robots became Transformers. Takara tried to market Gats Blocker here as Diakron, then Kronoform and later as Grandstand Convertors Alphatron. After reading about Diaclone robots, I found the solution to this mystery. Not that it was bugging me, but it was nice to know. I have had this robot for over 20 years and had no idea what this was. Now, I know. The link below covers Diaclone robots over the years. I also appear to be missing the pilots that go in 5 of the vehicles.

http://tfsource.com/blog/diaclone-abroad/

At this point I am not sure if this is the Diaclone or US version. Do I have Gats Blocker or Diakron? The guy I traded with bought robots here and in Asia. Maybe if I check out the made by on the robot I will find out.

It is a nice display size and a good looking robot. You can pick it up on the secondary market for a relatively low price as it had so many releases. ***
